Balch Symposium
After 56 years of service in the UC Davis Chemistry department, Prof Alan Balch is retiring. To celebrate the longest tenured professor serving in the UC system, we, the organizing committee, are organizing a symposium in his honor. Please join us in celebrating his illustrious career on November 14th, 2025 in the multi-purpose room, on the 2nd floor of the UC Davis Student Community Center. We plan to have a day of lectures highlighting Prof. Balch’s contribution to science and education, followed by dinner. Balch Dinner
If you plan to attend and stay for dinner, the cost is $60 per person, to ensure that Prof. Balch and his family are fully able to enjoy the event. The dinner cost must be sent directly to the chemistry department.
